NO HIDDEN MATH
Your price should
tell the whole story.
A 25% margin is different from a 25% markup. A $750 cost needs a $1,000 price to leave a 25% margin.
See every calculation
- Monthly visits = weekly visits × service weeks ÷ 12.
- Paid hours per visit = workers × (cleaning hours + paid travel/setup minutes ÷ 60).
- Loaded wage = hourly wage × (1 + payroll burden ÷ 100).
- Monthly base cost = monthly visits × (paid hours × loaded wage + supplies + travel expense + equipment) + allocated monthly overhead.
- Modeled cost = base cost × (1 + contingency ÷ 100).
- Price = modeled cost ÷ (1 − target margin ÷ 100).
- The stress check adds 20% to cleaning hours, holds the price fixed, and recalculates costs and margin.
Values are rounded for display only. Contingency is treated as a cost reserve. Financing costs, income taxes, and any costs you omit are not modeled. This calculator is for recurring service, not one-time deep cleans.
How should I estimate cleaning time?
Use a walkthrough and time logs from similar jobs. Enter hours per worker, not the total for the entire crew. Floor area alone does not capture restrooms, flooring, furnishings, access, and scope. ISSA explains the variables behind cleaning times. SweepMargin is independent and is not endorsed by ISSA.

BEFORE YOUR NEXT OFFICE BID
25% markup is
only 20% margin.
If a job costs $750 and you add 25%, your price is $937.50. The $187.50 left is 20% of that price. A 25% margin needs a $1,000 price instead.
